Chiba to be site of the first Red Bull Air Race in Japan
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2015, the fastest motorsport in the world, will be held for the first time in Japan in Chiba City from May 16th to the 18th, 2015.
Races maneuver through an low-altitude course created with 25 m high pylons at speeds of up to 370 km, pulling up to 10Gs. It is an official World Championship, accredited by the FAI – The World Air Sports Federation – and has become globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motorsport on the planet.
The races have been held in cites such as New York, Istanbul, San Francisco, Detroit, Barcelona, Budapest, Berlin, Rio De Janeiro, and London, to name a few. This will be the first time the race has been held in Japan.
At a press conference on November 26th, 2014, the Honorary President of the championship race, mayor of Chiba City Toshihito Kumagai, said it is a great honor for the race to be held in Chiba City for the first time in Japan. Top Japanese racer Yoshihide Muroya was also attendance, and invited people to come and experience the thrill first hand.
