The Chiba Convention Bureau has organized the first MICE Showcase held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 which was held at Makuhari Messe, the Chiba MICE Showcase 2024. The event was held to promote strengths of Chiba as MICE destination to main personnel of of universities, research institutes, academic conference secretariats, and other organizations that host business events. This was the first time the event was organized.

The Chiba MICE Showcase 2024 was participated by approximately 170 people (73 organizers and 97 exhibitors) from various fields. It showcased tours of Chiba’s exclusive venues, the Chiba port area and Mihamaen Japanese garden, the tour of the Makuhari Messe’s International Conference Hall, various exhibition booths and hands-on experience corner, as well as live performances, and food samplings.

The first part featured once of the ‘unique venues’ of Chiba, the Pier-01 located in the port area of Chiba. The venue features a gigantic 8.5-meter aquarium. The second destination leads to Makuhari Seaside Park where a beautiful Japanese garden is situated. At the Japanese garden, participants had the opportunity to tour the garden and experience a Japanese tea ceremony.

The second part featured the tour of Makuhari Messe’s International Conference Hall, which also introduced an exhibition area where posters of some of the examples of the past events were put on display. This aimed to provide more concrete idea to the event organizers on how and what particular services available to them. There were also various booths featuring local groups, allowing organizers and suppliers to a direct exchanges. The event also showcased hands-on experience, cultural and live performances, as well as local delicacies.

Chiba MICE Showcase served as a valuable day where not only the event organizers but also various people involved in holding MICE events could come together and interact with each other. Chiba Convention Bureau is hoping to continue to increase opportunities for such exchanges and work together to carry out activities aimed at attracting and holding business events in Chiba
