Convention overview | ・It is one of the largest international conferences on earth and planetary sciences in Japan, jointly organized by 50 academic societies related to earth, planetary, and space sciences in Japan. ・It has been held continuously since 2003, mainly in May at Makuhari Messe. (In 2014, it was held at Pacifico Yokohama due to its proximity to the schedule of the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (Sapporo). There are two types of presentations: oral presentations using slides and poster presentations. There are three types of sessions as follows. ①Public Sessions: Held on Sundays during the Congress, these sessions are open to the general public as well as those related to the Congress and are free of charge, providing a forum for interaction between researchers and the general public. ②Union Sessions: These sessions will cover topics related to all fields of the conference. Sessions will cover topics that, in the judgment of the organizers, are considered useful for the development of research in Earth and planetary science as a whole, or effective for the promotion and development of frontiers (new fields, boundaries with other fields, and fusion fields) in Earth and planetary science. ③Science Sessions:These sessions are divided into seven session categories, such as “Atmospheric and Hydrospheric Science” and “Global Humanosphere Science,” and specialized presentations will be made according to the field and content of the session. ・In the 2024 Congress, a reception was held for Congress participants, a tour of the JAXA Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, a field trip to the Boso Peninsula, and a futsal tournament at the JFA Yume Field. |
